"Garden Gems" - 20x20 acrylic on canvas original by Susan Anderson Atlanta artist Susan Byrn Anderson is a Southern girl who loves a good New England summer. She studied Art History at Vanderbilt University and was inspired to paint when she began spending summers on her husband's beloved Nantucket Island. "I was simply amazed by the beauty of God's creation?the constantly changing colors of the sky, the way that light and time of day affect the landscapes and seascapes, the abundant flowers that bloom throughout the summer. I wanted to capture these images and hold onto them." Susan began painting gifts for family members and giving her miniature paintings to her Nantucket houseguests as a memento from their visit. These miniatures and also larger works are now sold at Toujours Midi, located on Centre Street in Nantucket. Susan is a member of the Dunwoody Fine Art Association and has exhibited her work in the Dunwoody UMC Library and at the Artists Association of Nantucket Show.
